Happy New Year! Tech art fans around the world!
Welcome to the end of week #1 in 2021.
Folks may be just recovering from their holiday break but not the crew at Tech Art EDU! The crew has been hard at work on far too many projects!
Check today's new Tech Art Talk Live! and Houdini Secrets Live! broadcasts. Chris had a great time "Gushing" about his love for technical artists and giving praise and salutations the Tech Art Saints: Leonardo Da Vinci, Miyamoto Musashi and Moonglum of Elwher.
The Houdini Secrets Live! broadcast played her shinanigans with fate again and the original broadcast was scrapped. A new fire alarm system is being installed at FIEA and a tested started at 2:45pm and continued. Worried that the alarm would damage the recording, Chris moved to a different location only to learn he left his presentation notes back ast FIEA. Doh! Making his way back to FIEA, the alarm stopped and Chris recorded a new episode, https://youtu.be/iUis6gWj91Y, which he promptly reposted. Check out the posting for some fantastic Houdini based rigging strategies including a technique for retargeting a character with altered topology. A total game changer!
Work continues on Chapter 7 of Real-Time Visual Effects for Technical Artists. The work on the chapter is just a few days old but we're already working on page #11 and image #13. Yolanda Patino has agreed to take on the job of creating the chapter 7 images. Get ready for some great images from her.
Progress continues on the creation of the Procedural Gems manuscript. All of the articles are finished. The transcribing of the interviews is taking much longer than anticipated. The text interpretation from Zoom is rally not worth much and creates more work than it provides.
Big things are going on at Tech Art EDU. Stay tuned for more updates and future goodies!
Catch you on the Tech Side!
