It's been a couple of week's since my last post. It's time for a new one!
While I have been moving progressively on my book, Real-Time Visual Effects For the Technical Artist, progress has been slow. Regretfully, my former student Rene was deported but happened to get picked up by Codemasters in England. Good Job Rene! Congratulations! I love hearing when one of my students get picked up by a big company. I don't want to leave these other students out: Congratulations to Destiny for being picked up at Epic and Tae for being picked up at Sony Playstaion Studio. You all will make awesome Tech Artists!
With all of these celebrations, I am without help creating the images for my book. I am currently wrapping up the Simulations chapter. I thought it would be quick but I guess I had more to write about than originally throught. If there are any Technical artists out there who wish to contribute their Houdini and UE4 skills providing images for my Simulation chapter, please get in contact with me: chris@techArtEDU.com. This is a fantastic opportunity for any visual effects artist looking to sharpen their simulation skills on a project which will be publishing in 2021.
I think I have about a week or so left in the simulation chapter, finally, and then I'll march right on to the particles chapter. Contrary to popular expectation, the particles chapter will be one of the easier chapters to create. Moments to learn, a lifetime to master!
Everyone have a great December. Stay safe and I'll see you Friday for Tech Art Talk Live!, And Houdini Secrets Live!
Ciao!
